Special flu shot edition

It's flu shot season. While we're being urged by the pharmaceutical industry and government agencies to get flu shots to "protect" us, there are a lot of better reasons why we should not get a flu shot.

Flu shot and Alzheimer's disease

We thought it appropriate to remind everyone that according to Hugh Fudenberg, MD, the world's leading immunogeneticist and 13th most quoted biologist of our time (over 850 papers in peer reviewed journals), if an individual has had five consecutive flu shots their chance of getting Alzheimer's disease is ten times higher than if they had one, two or no shots. (1)

Why? Dr. Fudenberg reports that this is due to the mercury in flu shots (and many childhood and RhoGam shots); these toxins build up in the brain causing cognitive dysfunction. Is that why Alzheimer's is expected to quadruple? (2)

By the way, to disprove the Alzheimer's/flu shots connection, some Toronto MDs went to nursing homes and asked people with Alzheimer's if they remember getting a flu shot. Most said they didn't remember getting one. Not surprising since Alzheimer's victims may not remember the names of their spouse. Anyway, based on this "research" they concluded the flu shots didn't cause Alzheimer's (we are not making this up).

But the disclaimer in the paper's abstract negated its value: "Because of the self-reported nature of the risk factor questionnaire we cannot exclude the possibility of recall bias." (3)

Can you believe that the media reported this as "proof" the flu shot was safe? They didn't mention the disclaimer. Maybe they had too many flu shots?

H1N1 vaccine damage

The H1N1 "swine flu" vaccine is in this year's (2010-2011) flu vaccine. How safe is it?

In Finland, France and Sweden, narcolepsy was reported from the flu shot and the Finnish government suspended its use. In Korea swine flu vaccine side effects included allergic reactions, fevers, headaches and 10 deaths.

Other conditions related to the flu shot are Guillain-Barre syndrome (also known as French polio), idiopathic thrombocytopenia purpura (ITP - an autoimmune disorder blood clotting disorder), Bell's palsy, facial paralysis as well as others.

No one knows the exact mechanisms of how the flu shot injures. Some feel the reactions are caused by the toxic chemicals in the flu shot. Let's look at some of them.

What's in a flu shot?

In addition to billions of viri and toxins injected into pregnant women, babies and everyone else, the flu shot also contains powerful poisonous chemicals including:

Thimerosal - a preservative that is about half mercury. Mercury has been linked to autism, neurological and learning disorders, nerve and brain injury, organ failure and muscle weakness according to the US Food and Drug Administration.

Triton X-100 - a detergent and mercury derivative.

Polysorbate 80 - believed to cause cancer.

Formaldehyde - used to embalm dead bodies; labeled a carcinogen by the US Environmental Protection Agency.

The University of Alberta did a study in which one group of people got a flu shot and one group didn't. When researchers adjusted for selection bias there was no health difference between the groups in terms of who got the flu and other illnesses. (4-5)

Another study presented at an American Thoracic Society conference in San Diego revealed that children who got the flu vaccine were "three times more likely to need hospital care" compared to those who didn't. For children with asthma, the number was even higher. (6)

The flu shot has also been linked to vomiting, encephalitis and neurological disorders. (7)

Having the flu is good for you

Don't cry. It all depends on your perspective. Look at it this way:

For thousands of years healers have viewed acute illnesses such as cold, flu and fever as powerful weapons your body uses for cleansing and healing. While these are uncomfortable experiences, they are not only how your body detoxifies you but they also have a powerful benefit. Studies report that the cold and flu may protect you from getting cancer:

Those with carcinomas of the stomach, colon, rectum, breast, and ovary. were interviewed. A history of common colds or influenza prior to the interview was found to be associated with a decreased cancer risk. (8)

Subjects who reported a history of infectious diseases (e.g., colds, flu) showed a 30% reduction in risk [of brain tumor]. (9)

If you have a bad cold or the flu do not suppress your fever or other symptoms with drugs. Instead, respect what your body is telling you; work with your body to cleanse and detoxify your system. If you don't, you can stay sick longer. As researchers have reported:

Taking aspirin or Tylenol T for the flu could prolong your illness by up to 3½ days. (10)

Real protection

Certainly if a child or adult is expressing symptoms we must give comfort and support them, making sure their body is functioning within a healthy range of expression. People must remain hydrated, nourished, comforted and properly managed. Natural healthcare systems that respect symptom expression include chiropractic, homeopathy, naturopathy, craniosacral therapy, acupuncture, Chinese medicine, Indian (Ayurvedic) medicine and other "holistic" systems.

In our mad dash to protect people from expressing symptoms we should pause and consider that suppression of symptoms is not health.

Symptoms are the way the body heals and by suppressing disease symptoms we may cause deeper, more serious illness later on.

True health is when the body is able to express itself naturally.

Did you know?

The football huddle was conceived by a deaf quarterback at Gallaudet University who used sign language to communicate. Not wanting the opposition to see his signals, the team would bunch together to shield him.

Researching Chiropractic

Chiropractors are often sought out if a person has back, neck, sciatica, arm, leg, headache and other kinds of pain. But chiropractic is not for conditions. Chiropractic is for people! (By the way, pregnant women and babies especially need chiropractic care.)

Bedwetting and attention problems. An eleven-year-old boy with a history of nocturnal enuresis and attention problems was determined to have subluxations during chiropractic examination. Adjustments were applied at sites of vertebral subluxations at the C2, C6, T1, T5, T12, L3, L5 and pelvic segments. The patient and mother reported a significant decrease in episodes of bedwetting and an improvement in his attention problems. (11)

Dizziness (vertigo), neck pain and migraines. A twelve-year-old boy with a long history of routine, recurrent dizziness, chronic neck pain and migraines began chiropractic care. His symptoms had caused him to be absent from school more than half of the time the previous seven years.

He received chiropractic adjustments to the cervical (neck), mid-thoracic (mid back) vertebrae and the sacrum. After the first week of chiropractic care he reported a cessation of his headaches and neck ache. His vertigo attacks decreased in frequency and severity, then ceased. His school attendance improved dramatically. (12)

Breech baby. Three women presented to the author's office specifically for reduction of in utero constraint and were found to have subluxations consistent with uterine constraint, including sacral subluxations. Each fetus successfully turned within 4 visits. Of the three, two went on to have normal vaginal deliveries while one developed other complications during delivery and required an emergency C-section. (13)

McDonald's hamburgers live forever?

This is a fascinating story from Mike Adams, The Health Ranger. We recommend everyone subscribe to his newsletter. The mainstream media is going crazy over the story of a McDonald's hamburger that refuses to decompose. But there's another story behind this story that the media isn't reporting. Check out this not-so-happy meal right here:

Ultra deep field

Here is what happened when professional astronomers pointed the Hubble Space Telescope at absolutely nothing and left it there, first for 10 days, and then for 11 days. Then they made the images into a 3-D presentation. Hang on to your seat!

By the way, 13 billion light years are about equal to 880,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 (880 sextillion) miles. Be absolutely sure you have your sound on.  http://www.flixxy.com/hubble-ultra-deep-field-3d.htm

Humor

Alas, where has all our innocence gone?

While I sat in the reception area of my doctor's office, a woman rolled an elderly man in a wheelchair into the room. As she went to the receptionist's desk, the man sat there, alone and silent. Just as I was thinking I should make small talk with him, a little boy slipped off his mother's lap and walked over to the wheelchair. Placing his hand on the man's, he said, 'I know how you feel. My mom makes me ride in the stroller too.'

As I was nursing my baby, my cousin's six-year-old daughter, Krissy, came into the room. Never having seen anyone breastfeed before, she was intrigued and full of all kinds of questions about what I was doing. After mulling over my answers, she remarked, "My mom has some of those, but I don't think she knows how to use them."

Out bicycling one day with my eight-year-old granddaughter, Carolyn, I got a little wistful. "In ten years," I said, "you'll want to be with your friends and you won't go walking, biking, and swimming with me like you do now." Carolyn shrugged. "In ten years you'll be too old to do all those things anyway."

On the way back from a Cub Scout meeting, my grandson innocently said to my son, "Dad, I know babies come from mommies' tummies, but how do they get there in the first place?" After my son hemmed and hawed awhile, my grandson finally spoke up in disgust, "You don't have to make up something, Dad. It's okay if you don't know the answer."

Just before I was deployed to Iraq, I sat my eight-year-old son down and broke the news to him. "I'm going to be away for a long time," I told him. "I'm going to Iraq." "Why?" he asked. "Don't you know there's a war going on over there?"

Paul Newman founded the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp for children stricken with cancer, AIDS, and blood diseases. One afternoon, he and his wife, Joanne Woodward, stopped by to have lunch with the kids. A counselor at a nearby table, suspecting the young patients wouldn't know Newman was a famous movie star, explained, "That's the man who made this camp possible. Maybe you've seen his picture on his salad dressing bottle?" Blank stares. "Well, you've probably seen his face on his lemonade carton." An eight-year-old girl perked up. "How long was he missing?"

His wife's graveside service was just barely finished, when there was a massive clap of thunder, followed by a tremendous bolt of lightning, accompanied by even more thunder rumbling in the distance. The little old man looked at the pastor and calmly said, "Well, she's there."
